Length: One-day class
Audience: All staff members
Two heads are better than one - or so we are told. But when working with others, differences of opinion occur and sometimes result in conflict. When we need to work out differences in the workplace, we can benefit from the tried-and-true strategies of win-win negotiating. Opportunities to negotiate occur all the time -- when we establish schedules, delegate responsibilities, decide on an action plan, or choose the lead batter for the company softball team. In this workshop, you will learn to approach workplace conflicts constructively. Discussion and role plays will provide insight into the following concepts:
- The value of win-win solutions
- Preparing to negotiate
- Strategies for arriving at satisfactory conclusions
- Communication tips for being tough on problems, not on people
- The role of listening and creativity in resolving differences
